The Scottish Salmon Company has awarded company shares to every member of its staff in a bid to support greater employee participation throughout the company.
The company has 350 staff based from the Isle of Lewis to the Isle of across the west coast of Scotland and at the company’s headquarters in Edinburgh. Each will receive a share certificate for 100 shares in The Scottish Salmon Company.
Bill Hazeldean, newly-appointed CEO of The Scottish Salmon Company, said: “Our staff are our most important asset and going forward, we wish to encourage teamwork, transparency and open participation.
“This award is the first stage in our ongoing plan to encourage employee participation through share ownership and thereby create a more open structure to ensure that interests of all stakeholders are aligned.”
The Scottish Salmon Company has around 40 sites across the west coast and Hebrides and accounts for around 20% of Scotland’s output of salmon.
