Katie Morag Adult Workshops & Talks

As our new Katie Morag exhibition opens next month, our Education & Outreach team have programmed a truly unique and inspiring programme of Talks and Workshops designed specifically for adults who want to learn and gain experience from the writers, designers, producers. We are delighted to be welcoming a variety of experts from the team who brought us the BAFTA award winning CBeebies series Kaie Morag.

• Illustration Workshop with Mairi Hedderwick – Mairi will demonstrate her techniques and guide you through the process of enhancing text with illustrations.
• Book to Screen talk by Mairi Hedderwick and Lindy Cameron – they will talk about the process of translating the stories from book to screen.
• Directing for TV – an illustrated talk by Don Coutts – insight into the TV industry using clips from some of his work!
• Filming Drama Workshop with Jerry Kelly – this will give participants “hands on” experience of how to cover a scene, and light it, in a variety of ways
• Scriptwriting Workshop with Sergio Casci – Guidance in writing effective dialogue and creating memorable characters.
• Set Design Workshop with David Wilson – an introduction into the processes involved in designing and producing sets and props for the demanding TV industry
