Western Isles MSP, Alasdair Allan, has again met with representatives of Vodaphone regarding recent disruption to mobile services in the Western Isles. He reported a number of complaints from constituents including the complete collapse of the network in the area around Stornoway for several days last month.
Alasdair Allan commented:
“This is the second time recently I have met with Vodaphone to convey complaints from their customers in the islands. The first of these was that for several days in the middle of September Vodaphone stopped working almost completely in the Stornoway area.
“Other complaints brought to me include the fact that the Vodaphone call centre regularly seems to be unaware of when the network in a whole geographic area is down, and also that it increasingly seems to take several attempts to get a Vodaphone connection.
“Vodaphone have undertaken to respond to these complaints and act upon them, but I am also very happy to pursue ongoing problems in specific areas of the islands if any constituent would like to contact me directly.”
