Speaking today Jamie said:
“ I am very aware that some of these proposals are controversial, especially those removing all public counter services from some local police stations which currently have them.
“ While I sympathise with Police Scotland trying to maximise efficiency, some constituents believe this review underestimates the importance people place on being able to access their local police station.
“ Many think these facilities are vital in maintaining a connection with local people and in serving the community.
‘My constituents will want to be reassured that they can contact an officer in person at their local station. I am urging any constituents throughout my region to make their views known to Police Scotland or else to contact me and I will happily take their concerns up with the relevant divisional commanders.”
