At First Minister’s Questions today. Highlands & Islands Labour MSP David Stewart said “ The First Minister will be well aware of the severe fuel crisis on the Western Isles, where garages are running our of petrol and diesel and motorists are being forced to accept rationing at the pumps. This has serious consequences for the emergency services – Police, Fire, Ambulance Service and Doctors and the public they serve. Will the First Minister agree to urgently meet with Scottish Fuels to find a solution to help the Western Isles”?
The First Minister assured David Stewart that the Government were in communication with Scottish Fuels about arranging a meeting to discuss the crisis and also the issue with regards the suitability of some of the fuel tanks on the Islands.
