FINAL CALL FOR LEADER APPLICANTS – LAST CHANCE FOR NEW PROJECTS

LEADER will be releasing an additional sum of grant-funding shortly, for which eligible community groups can apply. This tranche of funding is strictly limited and completed applications must be submitted to the LEADER team by Thursday 28 February – with successful applicants to this final funding-round being informed by the end of March 2013.

LEADER Innse Gall Programme 2007-2013 Local Action Group (LAG) Chairman, Cllr Alasdair MacLeod, said:

The LAG is extremely pleased to offer eligible community groups across the Outer Hebrides a final opportunity to apply for LEADER grant-funding – due primarily to a one-off windfall generated through a small number of projects not claiming their full allocation of grant”.

Eligible projects should be new, innovative, pilot and community-led capital or revenue projects which provide economic, social or environmental sustainability to communities in theOuter Hebrides.  Projects must be for the benefit of local communities and must not have started prior to a formal decision being communicated.

Due to strict Programme timescales, successful applicants will require to complete the LEADER-funded part of their project and claim their final LEADER grant by 31 December 2013.  The LEADER LAG also asks that applicants are ready to begin their projects and their match-funding package should either already be in place, or awaiting a decision from other funders.

Since the current Programme was launched LEADER Innse Gall has awarded almost £3m to more than 75 community projects across the Outer Hebrides.
