Western Isles residents should beware of doorstep sellers who are currently operating in the area selling powerwashers.
A Trading Standards spokesperson said “We would always advise not to sign any documentation or give bank details to itinerant traders or cold callers. It can be very difficult to get a refund if the goods turn out to be faulty and the seller has left the Islands. Do not be pressurised into buying any goods or services. Consumers should shop around for the best price and watch out for goods which appear to be well known brands but are actually cheap imitations”.
