Western Isles MSP, Alasdair Allan, today visited the new Sgoil an Taobh Siar, which services communities on the West side of Lewis. Dr Allan is also Minister for Learning in the Scottish Government and was impressed both at the building and the commitment of staff at the school.
Alasdair Allan commented:
“Sgoil an Taobh Siar is one of six new school buildings recently opened in the islands following major financial commitment by both the Scottish Government and the Comhairle.
“It was great to have a chance to meet pupils and staff in a school which clearly has immense importance to its community. Not only are the building and the facilities in it state of the art but staff are clearly enthusiastic for the future.
