Angus Campbell, Leader of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has welcomed the Scottish Government’s announcement of its plans for future support of onshore windfarms.
Cllr Campbell said: “The Scottish Government has responded to the evidence that was placed before it and has accordingly reduced its funding for ROCs by 10%. It is now time for the UK government to make its ROC review decision and I would urge Ministers to pay attention to all the available evidence and limit its reduction to 10%. It is important that this decision be made soon if we are going to maintain confidence in the renewables industry and ensure investment in the jobs that are so badly needed.”
