NORTHERN Constabulary set up a major enquiry team following the suspicious death of 16 year-old Liam Aitchison. Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Anderson can now confirm that following the result of a post mortem examination, the death of Liam Aitchison is now a murder enquiry.
DCI Anderson said, “The response from the community in Stornoway to appeals for information has been very positive and I would appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to this crime to contact the the incident room at Stornoway Police Station.”
He added: “In particular, we wish to trace witnesses who may have seen three people wearing hooded type tops, who were seen walking in the Steinish village area shortly after midnight on Tuesday 22nd into the early hours of Wednesday 23rd November 2011.”
