After a protracted battle to win the right to open on a Sunday Stornoway Golf Club have won their legal case.
Following an appeal hearing at Inverness Sheriff Court last month, Sheriff Sir Stephen Young has ruled in favour of the golf club’s application.
The court has granted permission for a variation of the club’s Licence which will permit them to sell alcohol on Sundays, but there will be no off-sales provision.
The golf club applied for a Sunday extension on two separate occasions last year, but were refused by the Western Isles Licensing Board on the grounds of public health.
