Innovative training comes to Western Isles

People with Diabetes and or Coronary Heart Disease across the Western Isles will be introduced to the

The Living Better Project from November; a Scottish Government funded initiative which works to improve the wellbeing of people with long term conditions, using innovative self-management training.

Pat Welsh, Long Term Conditions Programme Manager for NHS Western Isles said “We know that from time to time it can be difficult to cope with living with a long term condition such as Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease.  Self management training such as this can help to keep people well, and give them the skills to see them through the tough times”.

Margaret Hart, Living Better’s trainer said “I am delighted to be coming to Western Isles to deliver this innovative new training which deals with an often overlooked area – the wellbeing of people with long-term conditions.  Past participants have said they really value the chance to speak to others about their long term conditions, and find out tips and strategies to improve their quality of life.  I hope the Western Isles will find it beneficial”

12  November, 09:30-12:30, Caladh Inn in Stornoway

22 November, 14:00-17:00, Dark Island Hotel in Benbecula
