MSPs expenses have come under the spotlight as the Scottish Parliament revealed that payments for last year totalled £11.7m
Expenses and allowances for 2009-10 reached £11,662,598, an increase of £706,394 from the previous year, with allowance system partly blamed for the increase
Western Isles MSP, Alasdair Allan claimed the most expenses at almost £46,000, with Lothians MSP George Foulkes claiming the least at £3,000.
A Scottish Parliament spokesman, said: “Staff salary costs aside, the wider picture shows costs remain steady.”
