NHS Western Isles is currently installing a number of digital televisions in the three hospitals in the Western Isles in response to the digital switchover.
Staff have been working to ensure that digital televisions are in place for patients in Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, Uist and Barra Hospital in Benbecula and St Brendan’s in Barra.
“Western Isles Hospital”
Rather than utilise old televisions with digiboxes, the decision was taken to use donated funds (endowments) to purchase new, better quality televisions that are easier for patients to use. Around 55 digital televisions have been purchased for use across the hospitals in the Western Isles.
A number of these digital televisions are now in place in wards in Western Isles Hospital. Those not yet in place will be set up shortly.
