Comhairle nan Eilean Siar have accepted the recommendations of the recent HMIe Report on Castlebay Community School and are committed to implementing an action plan that will address the key recommendations of the Report. The Chair of Education and Children Services Committee and the Chief Executive have already arranged to be in Barra on the 15th April 2010 and intend to meet with the Parent Council then. The Director of Education and Children’s Services is currently seeking to identify a mutually convenient date for a meeting, ideally prior to 15th April 2010.
Leader of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Councillor Angus Campbell said:
“I am confident that by working together with the Head Teacher, staff, parents and pupils, progress will be achieved. I disagree strongly with the Parent Council’s views of the Comhairle. I intend to visit Barra in April and hope to meet with them then”.
