Western Isles Candidate Selection

I welcome the announcement by the Scottish Christian Party that they have selected a candidate for the forthcoming election. I have also heard that the Conservatives will shortly announce their candidate.

The voters here will soon know who their candidates will be at this the most important Westminster election for decades.

The people of the Western Isles will make the decision as to who will serve them; the Christian Party candidate with Central Belt experience, the candidate of the Tory Party who currently only have one MP in Scotland who is likely to lose his seat to the excellent Liberal Democrat, Catriona Bhatia, failed Labour or the centrist SNP.

Only the Liberal Democrats understand and support the needs of rural Highland and Island communities and only we have been working together to address the issues vital to those of us resident here in the Western Isles.

Soon voters will decide the outcome. I look forward to the campaign ahead.
