Commenting before today’s special meeting of Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar’s Enviromental and Protective Services committee, SNP MP Angus MacNeil commented:
“I hope councillors think long and hard about the proposals in front of them for the future of the Town Hall in Stornoway. The building is a landmark in the centre of Stornoway. If they agree to the proposals, it will mean that the facility will lose its current character.
“I have had a large number of representations on this issue, all against the proposals, and there has also been a campaign on facebook with hundreds of people totally opposed to these proposals.”
