Western Isles Council should take note of public concerns

Angus Macneil

Commenting before today’s special meeting of Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar’s Enviromental and Protective Services committee, SNP MP Angus MacNeil commented:

“I hope councillors think long and hard about the proposals in front of them for the future of the Town Hall in Stornoway. The building is a landmark in the centre of Stornoway. If they agree to the proposals, it will mean that the facility will lose its current character.

“I have had a large number of representations on this issue, all against the proposals, and there has also been a campaign on facebook with hundreds of people totally opposed to these proposals.”
