Stornoway Port Authority Board today (23 February 2010) met with the Chief Executive, the Leader and three other Stornoway Council Members of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar concerning Stornoway Town Centre Regeneration matters involving the Stornoway Port Authority.
The Stornoway Port Authority notes that Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has decided not to proceed with the proposal to partially infill the Bayhead Estuary, favouring instead other Town Centre Projects with the available funding.
The meeting was informative with a robust exchange of views.
A number of matters were discussed relating to the Comhairle’s administrative procedures and Governance practices which require further clarification and investigation.
Stornoway Port Authority intends taking these matter forward with the appropriate bodies.
