An elderly female pedestrian has sadly died in hospital after being involved in a collision with a vehicle on the A857 at Ness, Isle of Lewis on Friday 29 January 2010 at 15.15.
Following the collision the woman was taken to Western Isles hospital for treatment and was later transferred to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow. In the early hours of this morning Police were notified that the 81-year-old had sadly died as a result of her injuries.
A full road collision investigation will be carried out. Her details are not being issued at this time and a report is to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
