EventScotland announces funding for Hebridean Celtic festival

EventScotland has awarded more than £20K to the Hebridean Celtic Festival, a summer celebration of traditional music, which will take place this year from 14th – 17th July.

To mark the festival’s 15th anniversary, the national events agency is supporting an enhanced marketing and PR campaign to encourage even further growth in 2010.

Based in the Outer Hebrides, the Hebridean Celtic Festival is a flagship Scottish cultural event, which over the years has earned an international reputation for quality and cutting edge programming.

Boasting a large purpose built venue each year, the unique nature of the festival is reinforced by a backdrop of distinctive island Gaelic culture.

Paul Bush OBE, Chief Operating Officer of EventScotland, told Hebrides news Today: “Scotland’s Outer Hebrides is an area of unparalleled natural beauty which benefits enormously each year from an influx of visitors attending the Hebridean Celtic Music Festival.  Islanders and mainlanders alike join in the celebration which encompasses local tourist attractions, travel companies and businesses, all of whom enjoy increased footfall and profits.

“The Festival itself is a fantastic celebration of Scottish culture and heritage and showcases the Outer Hebrides to a UK wide audience.  EventScotland’s funding will promote all aspects of the extended anniversary programme to ensure the success of the Festival into and beyond its 15th anniversary year.”
