Ferry Operator Caledonian MacBrayne, (CalMac) has confirmed it is to run its popular additional sailings between Ardrossan and Brodick during the Summer 2010 season.
CalMac has provided extra sailings on the MV Saturn to supplement those already scheduled for the MV Caledonian Isles for several years, following representations from island ferry users and local businesses.
Phil Preston, Managing Director of CalMac Ferries Ltd said:
“The additional sailings provided in the last few years by the MV Saturn have proved popular with the local community, especially tourism-related businesses, and we are pleased to be able to repeat this in 2010. As in previous years this service is being operated outwith the CHFS Contract arrangements with the agreement of the Scottish Government. We will be marketing the additional sailings to increase carryings as much as we can.”
The additional service will operate during July and August 2010, and timetables will be published in due course.
