Biting cold might be forecast for this New Year’s Eve but the traditional Stornoway fireworks will go ahead as planned from 12.30am to welcome in January 1st, 2010.
To catch the extravaganza from the best viewpoint spectators are advised to gather at Bayhead Street, which will be closed to traffic from 12.15am.
As usual the party atmosphere will be in full swing and special thanks has been offered by organisers, Stornoway Amenity Trust to all the businesses who sponsored the event following a threat that it might not go ahead due to a lack of funds.
