Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will host a photographic exhibition to mark thirty years since the main Comhairle building on Sandwick Rd was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The exhibition will take place in the ground floor foyer area and will be open to the public from 9am until 5pm from Monday the 14th to Friday the 18th of December 2009.
Featured in the exhibition will be a collection of photographs taken on the day of the opening. In addition a number of photographs from other significant events in the Western Isles will be on display.
Convenor Alex MacDonald commented:
“The exhibition of photographs is an excellent historical documentation of an important time in the history of the Comhairle.
Many will remember the event well and I would encourage members of the public to come in and have a look at the photographs”.
