Following an influx of emergency calls to the Northern Constabulary Force Operations Centre over the weekend, Police would like to remind members of the public of where to get the most accurate and up to date information on road conditions and closures.
The website for Traffic Scotland contains up to date information, including webcams, for major trunk roads across Scotland and can be found atwww.trafficscotland.org or you can call their traffic customer careline on 0800 028 1414.
Police would like to reiterate that members of the public should only travel if their journey is necessary. If deemed essential, drivers should make sure that they drive according to the conditions of the road and weather and for specific road information for the area, listen to the local radio station.
