Run Stornoway Santa Run

Saturday December 19th will see the annual Santa Run take place in Stornoway. This year’s event is sponsored by ‘Events at Christmas’ – a two mile run or walk from the Town Hall to the Sports Centre running track.

All the participants will be wearing Santa suits and will be raising money for a great local cause. December 19th is the Lewis branch of Cancer Research UK’s annual fundraising day and all proceeds will be going to this award winning group.

The entry fee for Over 18 is £6 including your Santa suit, £5 if you have your own, Under 18’s – £5 including a Santa suit, £4 if you have your own and £2 for Primary pupils (to take part in the run you must dress up as one of Santa’s little helpers). Each adult can be responsible for up to two Primary pupils.

Participants must complete an entry form and return it to the Sports Centre where you will be given a voucher for ‘Events at Christmas’ to collect your suit. Events at Christmas are providing the Santa suits as sponsorship ensuring that the maximum amount of money is raised. There will be mince pies and refreshments at the finish, provided by the Lewis branch of Cancer Research UK.

Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs Association in conjunction with Events at Christmas are opening a Santa’s Grotto at Events at Christmas (Heb fest office, Cromwell street) on Saturday 5th, 12th, 19th December and the evening of the 8th December
